Welcome to Europe. To fully understand Halloween we must go all the way back to the beginning

It all began in the early 1700's. During this time european colonists where in the process of trying to convert pagans to Christianity. Pagans had several holidays for honoring the dead. Though out of all of them Salome was the scariest. Durning this holiday the spirits of the dead would rise. To keep the spirits at bay, people would pour milk on their graves or leave them little cakes. When the Christians came they changed the holiday a bit, but kepted a lot of the same themes going, they thought this would make it easier to convert them. They change the name of the holiday to "All Hollows Day". This was a day to honor the most holy of dead Christians. They then moved th holiday to November 1st. This was to drain the life out of another Pagan holiday the next day. They thn began calling the night before "All Hollows Evening," this later evolved into "All Hollows Eve," then finally "Halloween."
